Hi Pamela
Thanks for your essay, it was very interesting especially the part about
WW1. My father joined the Canadian forces in 1914 when he was 15 years old.
He told the recruiting officer he was 17. My granfather told the same office
he was 40 when he was 45. So neither of them should have been in the war.
They both thought it would be a chance to visit England again, which never
did occur. I guess you noticed my address was from Winnipeg. Thanks for your
concern about the flood. So far Winnipeg is not in any grave danger except
for sewer backup. Hopefuly there will not be any heavy rains in the next
couple of weeks.
