Dear Friend,
I have been doing years or research for the Page Family of Great
Yarmouth - there
is a connection with the Prestons - briefly an Edmund Preston who
married Phyllis
Symonds c. 1798 - their children Edmund b. 26/10/1799 buried
26/10/1799 and
Edmund b. 31/10/1800 who appears to have survived; James Preston,
bapt. to them
31/10/1800. I think I have more in my now large pile of notes not
yet entered on
our Tree, but will look them up for you, if interested, as soon as
I get time.
As a matter of interest, these events were found on a search of the
Parish
Records of St. Nicholas, Great Yarmouth, which go back to the 1500s
and are rich
in information. I only copied Prestons or Symonds where they were
relevant to my
Page Family, which I did copy in careful detail - even to the
twenty of them
buried in the Great Plague 1664/1665. If you do get to search
these records
reserve sevedral weeks! St. Nicholas was I believe the largest
Church outside of
London. I know I have a Cory note somewhere also, but it will take
time to
find. Best of luck, Iris Page in Auckland, New Zealand.
