Hello Margaret;
My wife once lived in the farmhouse built on the site of Marmont Priory at
Upwell, Wisbech Cambs. The only remains of the priory were the odd stone
building block that was ploughed up from time to time. There was a rumour
about a tunnel leading from the priory to Upwell Church, but no hard
evidence was ever found to substantiate the rumour. .
Lady Kingham lives in a substantial farmhouse/rectory not too many miles
away, which is reputed to have a tunnel linking it with a different Church.
She is aware of many tunnels under the house, but has not yet found one
heading off in the direction of the Church.
One lives in hope!
