Hi all,
I'm having no luck at all finding James PUMFREY in the 1851 census. (I'm
relying on the transcription site and the LDS site). As a beginner, I
thought I was smart thinking of the alternative spelling HUMFREY but just
realised that there are some Norfolk families called
BUMFREY/BUMPHRY/BUMPHREY also. Might an enumerator have recorded a PUMFREY
thus?
Is anyone researching that name or have easy access to the 1851? If so, the
guy I am looking for would have been about 28 years old in 1851 and was born
in Horstead. In 1858 he married his second wife so in 1851 might have had a
wife and possibly children.
Just a longshot but thanks in advance for any help!
Jackie
