Hi Bonnie,
Thanks for answering my post concerning Abraham Vasser. We
corresponded last year concerning the Vassar families in Norfolk,
England. If you could sent me your Vassar database as a GEDCOM file
attached to e-mail I would appreciate it. I thought Abraham Vasser might
have been a great uncle of Matthew Vasser. Family tradition says there
is a connection but I have not found it.
There probably were Vasser families in other sections of England.
There was a John Vasser who with his wife and a servant left England
from Gravesend in 1635 on the barque Alice and landed in Virginia. I have
trace records of his descendants for five generations. I have been
unable to connect my line to his but I expect there might be a connection
since all of my Vasser ancestors lived in that area of Virginia. I would
also like to find out something about this John Vasser's English
ancestors. There a rumors that men with this name came to England from
Normandy with William the Conqueror. Maybe they settled in southern
England.
Thanks of your answer. I appreciate hearing from you again,

Sincerely,
REGINALD L. VASSAR
