Noticed your mail regarding the royal house at the acensionof Edward 7th
1901
Reminded me me i had an illustrated London news regarding his life. The
paper is well worn but had the following some of the chief officers of the
household with photos
Master of the Royal Household Lord Edward Pelham Clinton is th only living
uncle of the Duke of Newcastle Born in 1836 he was formerly in the rifle
brigade, was groom in waitng to the Queen 1881-1894 and master of the
household after that date The picture is by Hughes and Mullins.
Queen Victoria's Private secretary Sir Arthur John Bigge (knight) born 1849
was in the Artillary (1869 -98 ) and served in the Zulu Wars. Appointed a
groom-in-waiting to Her Majesty, 1880, he became an Equerry in Ordinary
,1881 and private secretary in 1885.
Keeper of the Privy Purse
The right Hon, Sir Fleetwood Edwards (born 1842) was in the Royal Engineers
(1863-95). He was an assistant keeper of the Privy purse and Assistant
private secretary to the Queen, 1879-95, since which date he has been the
keeper.
Comptroller of the Royal Household
Arthur (Annesley ) Viscount Valentia (born 1843) is the premier Baronet of
Ireland An enthusiastic , yeoman , he has been out in South Africa as
A.A.G. of the Imperial Yeomanry. He represents Oxford City in Parliment
