married again, to Sarah Neale, on 9 February 1847, at St. Andrews in Great
Ryburgh. Sarah was forty six years old, John Samuel fifty three. He was a
widower, she a widow, having previously married Robert Mitchell in 1831, by
whom she had an illegitimate child Esther Ann Neale, and four legitimate
children, Margaret, Elizabeth Ellen, Susanna and Sophia.

Does this fit in at all with your Mitchells?

Also, on your list of names you are interested in, you have LATTEN. Did
you mean PLATTEN?
