Roger
Have you tried a different spelling. When I was looking for Canham in Lincs
1841 I found what I was looking for spelt CANNAM.
Cheers
Lynn

His everyone

I've sent this to both the Suffolk and Norfolk lists because the answer to
my query may lie either side of the border (but sorry to all who will get
this message twice).

One of my 4G grandparent couples were Robert READ and Lydia CANHAM who
married on 13 May 1799 in Palgrave, Suffolk, just the other side of Waveney
from Diss, Norfolk. My problem is that I have been unable to find any
baptism record of Lydia CANHAM. Does anyone have a baptism for this Lydia
CANHAM?

One clue that I have is that on 22 May 1791 in nearby Hinderclay, Suffolk,
just over the border from Blo Norton and South Lopham in Norfolk there is
the following baptismal record: Frances CANHAM, an adult age 38 years,
daughter of William & Lydia CANHAM (formerly COLMAN).

It seems that there is a possibility that Frances could be a much older
sister of 'my' Lydia and that William and Lydia are 'my' Lydia's parents.
I'd be grateful for any help.

Roger
