The previous page on Free BMD (4b 1009 ) has a single entry of Kate Clarke
transcribed. Does that ring a bell?
Unless you are prepared to wade through every entry on the GRO index for the
year/quarter for a corresponding page entry I can't see any way to find out
who he married without buying a certificate. The Ancestry site for the GRO
index does not have a facility to search by entering the date volume and page
which is a bit of a shame really.
The name of the groom seems pretty clear so the GRO should be able to find
it even if there has been a mistranscription of the bride's name somewhere
along the line.
If you feel you would rather deal directly with Thetford in case they have a
more accurate copy of the original entry the office can be found from the
main Norfolk County Council web site
_www.norfolk.gov.uk_ (http://www.norfolk.gov.uk)
Select Community and Living from the navigation window top right and then
registration services from the list on the left.
