Does one have to be a local to assist? Is it possible to assist from the
Antipodes? I have a personal interest in Great Yarmouth, St Nicholas and am
keen to be able to access the finished product.

Hello Folk
I am also in the process of 1st round Transcribing or a Yarmouth for
Freereg/cen. It is a slow process reading the originals especially with
limited computer time now but hope to be able to crack down on it more. It
then has to go to a second proofing etc before it will be released. Do not
fret they come bits at a time.
I agree we need to have more volunteers to do these transcriptions. That
will get more records out faster.
Greg

As Martina said; Parishes appear on FreeREG only as a result of people
volunteering to transcribe the registers.
In the case of Yarmouth I do have a small segment contributed by Richard
Green awaiting conversion (Need volunteers for this sort of activity as
well)
I have a register on hand waiting for a volunteer to step up and
transcribe it. More can be obtained.
Yarmouth is a large parish and a big undertaking so it is most likely
that 5 or more people would be needed to complete the parish is a
reasonable time frame. (Just like we have 5 working on Wymondham)
If you are interested in the parish; why not join our growing and merry
team of transcribers? They are a great bunch who have already done a
fantastic job in just a year. No experience needed just some time and a
willingness to contribute. :-)
