This is perhaps where your information comes from:

Burial: East Barsham
Thomas ARMIGER (married man) was buried February 1 1793 (aged 55 years)
pauper.

Have you seen these?

Mary RUMMER of the parish at Great Walsingham spinster were
married in this church by Banns this seventeenth day of November in the
year One thousand Seven hundred and fifty six.

Prudence daughter of Thos. ARMIGER and Mary his wife bapt. May 31st 1761

Mary wife of Thomas ARMIGER was buried June 12th 1761
Prudence daughter of Thomas ARMIGER buried June 30th 1761

Thomas ARMIGER of this parish widower
and Mary CANDLER of the same single-woman
were married in this church by Banns this eleventh day of October in the
year One thousand seven hundred and sixty-three.

Frances the daughter of Thomas ARMIGER and Mary his wife was baptized
January 18th 1778
Helena the daughter of Thomas ARMIGER and Mary his wife was baptized
February 20th 1780
Samuel the son of Thomas ARMIGER and Mary his wife was baptized May 5th 1782

I can't find a baptism for Thomas around 1738 and so must conclude that
his parents, and he, came from another (nearby?) parish
