Hi,
I have just obtained the death certificates for my great great grandparents James and Elizabeth PEGG who both died in 1880 in Corpusty. Elizabeth's cause of death was Paralysis 6 years, she was 76 and her husband died a month later of General Debility and what looks like Diarrhoea 5 days, he was 75. Could anyone offer any information about these causes?
It struck me that after caring for his wife for so long, James couldn't face life without her so just gave up, but perhaps that's a little too romantic!
I did wonder if there could have been some kind of illness that had spread through the area in 1880?
Thanks for reading.
Carol
