Hi Evelyn,
I saw your interest in the Norman family and I am almost certain that we
are related somehow.
Let me explain, I have been researching my fathers side of the tree
which is the Musgrove branch, but as my Grandparents on my mothers side,
William Lesley Norman and Olive Muriel nee Budds are still alive and
well at the ages of 91 and 93 respectively I thought it would be a good
idea to get them to write down all they could remember of their
ancestors.
Grandad gave me quite a bit of info which some of it ties in with what
you have said.
My grandfather is William Leslie Norman O.B.E. b.1906 married to Olive
Muriel Budds b.1907.
Leslie as we know him, father was William James Norman b 1st May 1883 in
Somerset married Ellen Jane Parry b.13th Aug 1887.
William James' father was Henry Norman who married Eliza Cox, no dates
for these, but they lived in Compton Dundon and I believe Eliza was born
there as there was (according to the locals) a large Cox family in the
village who were the Wheel Wrights. Also there are a number of Cox's
buried in the churchyard.
Henry and Eliza had at least 4 children, Sarah b 1st May 1884 Somerset
married Thomas Dixon.
Mary Ann Norman married Charles Sheppard.
Ashley Norman had a son Ashley.
And my Great Grandfather William James who married Ellen Jane Parry.
Please email me with some more info if you have it, this is a very
interesting family.
Regards, Steve Musgrove
