I have written to the list before this, but a bit more casually. Now, I am
really getting desperate.
I am trying to find the burial place of my Gr gr grandfather, and this is
what I have so far. His name is LEVI, LEE COX b.12 Feb, 1838 IN. Moved to MO,
met and married LOUISA CALDWELL b.22 Sept, 1838 MO - 7 Mar, 1867. 3 of their
children were born there. Family moved to Jack Co.1876, lived in Gibtown.
LOUISA died 10 April, 1908, and is buried in the Gibtown cemetery. Now, this
is where I got desperate for some help. He was living with his Grandaughter
in 1924, when they moved to Dawson Co.TX, but i am told he did not go.He
married a neighbor lady (name unkn) and they moved! None of the family knows
her, where she was from, when he died, where he is buried.
If ANYONE out there in one of the counties surounding Jack ,Wise, Parker,
Palo Pinto, Young, Archer, Clay, Montague counties have any knowledge of this
person, let me hear from you.Might be an obit, a tombstone, hearsay,
anything. I'll take it.
I wrote to the state asking for a death certificate, and was told they had 2
Levi Cox's, so I bought them both. They were both the wrong person! I haven't
tried "LEE" yet.
Maybe if he died before his bride (which I am sure he did, having married
after 87 yrs)
she may not have known his real name. PLEEEEASE I NEED HELP!!!
Thanks,
Wanda
Sorry this is long. Hope I didn't take up too much room.
