Hi Gillian,

I liked your idea also, and so I am posting my own great-grandparents (just
the ones born in the UK, of course). Anyone who does not care to read this
is welcome to hit the 'delete' button.

Rose Mary CLIFFORD b. 1870 Tingewick, BKM. Her parents were Thomas CLIFFORD
b. 1848 Finmere, OXF and Mary Ann NOQUET b. 1838 Bloxham, OXF. (These
villages are of course all close to the NTH border.)

Rose married Asa WALWORTH in 1900, of British ancestry but his ancestor left
the UK around 1690.

Ann TIMS b. 1785 Farthinghoe, NTH (further back in time -4g-grandmother -
but in the right geo. area!) Ancestry to abt. 1685.

Anna O'BRIEN, b. 1864 in Callan, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland

On my husband's side:

Job SKIDMORE b. 1874 Oldbury, Worcs. Married Florence ROBINSON at Langley,
WAR 1898. They emigrated to America in the 1910s. Have ancestry back to
1590 in the Birmingham area, and a fair number of related SKIDMOREs all over
the country.

Matthew Ramsay FERGUSON b. 1875, Glasgow, Scotland. I have not done much
work on this branch yet.

I am doing a one-name study on CLIFFORD (aka CLIFTON in 18c) in BKM, OXF,
NTH, and WAR and have my family's ancestry back to about 1775. Most
CLIFFORDs found in Northants thus far originated from the Finmere family.
The NOQUETs were Huguenots and I have their ancestry back to France about
1650.

Hi all

I am sorry that there are some that did not like my idea of passing the
"great grandparent" theme on to this list. I would like to say that I have
already received three e-mails in reply (one looks very interesting and may
just help with one of my brickwalls plus two others which may tie in with a
bit more research). Even though none of my ggrandparents came from Northants
I do have a number of gg+ grandparents that come from the county and that is
why I joined the list. I hope others will benefit like I am doing wherever
their ancestors hail from.
