There are 3 of us researching the same QUIN(N) family and they are an utter
nightmare, we have found 3 name changes in one genertation James QUIN, James
CRAIGIE and James BELL. thats not taking into account the other QUINN and
the various spellings of CRAIGIE.

My QUIN's lived at Rolling Mill Row in Walker, but if I remember rightly
there isn't a connection with yours.

Take care
Sheila

Hello Sheila and anyone else after the QUIIN's of Walker/Longbenton etc.

Yes, i think we went over this ground before and found no connection.

But I was interested in what you said about 3 name changes witihin a
generation. I had this problme with another of my Newastle families. My 3 x
great grandfather changed his surname (every time it suited him!) to his
mothers maiden name. I would never have known this if an unknown distant
cousin in Virginia hadn't tipped me off. Then I was delighted to get back
several further genearations with her help.

Rolling Mill Row, I've never heard of it, its not in Walker now or in 1881.
Any idea whereabouts it was?
