In Westerhope, Newcastle upon Tyne there are three rows of cottages, Lily Terrace, Edna Terrace and Mary Terrace. In the 70s, thru the 80s and 90s my Aunt lived in Lily Terrace, my brother in Edna Terrace, and my parents in Mary Terrace. As the cottages are quite old, we got to wondering as to the purpose for which they were built. Does anybody have the answer please? i.e.: pit or farm dwellings etc.
