Hi to all!
Just want to pass on some exciting news regarding my search for
information on my great-grandfather, Paul Ugstad, from Drammen, Norway.
Through the message I posted about him on the list, I received a message
from Bob Tweeten, who's great-grandfather came over to America with my
g-grandfather! They both settled down in Otter Tail County, MN and later
traveled to North Dakota where they both homesteaded, and were
neighbors! And when my g-grandfather died, Bob's g-grandfather made the
burial box for him! Bob is sending me copies of information he has found
about my grandfather, and some other resources to get a hold of.
Amazing! It's such a small world with the internet! Thanks so much for
this mailing list, it's really a great tool in our research. (Plus it's
fun to talk to others about out heritage, food, clothing, etc.)
