Hello All.
I make it a practice to not respond to the various conversations that take
place on the several lists I am on, mostly because I don't have time to even
read the ones not about my interests, but in this case I must put in a word
for Vidar and Steinar. Vidar has done research for me at the National
Archives in Oslo and I am extremely pleased with the results! For what he
found in the records, I got a bargain! I also wrote to Steinar and asked him
what church books he has access to and it is his local area around Nes. They
are two different people with access to two different sets of records. In
defense of both of them I can say this: I have a few resources on hand that
I can and do look things up in for free; I also do genealogical research for
others which requires travel and/or other expenses which I must charge the
customer for. I would gladly do that research for free if I could afford to,
but like most of us, I can't. I am sure both Vidar and Steinar are in the
same situation.
Happy Ancestor hunting to you all!
Susan
