I don't know if you will remember me, I don't write to often I just sit back and absorb as much as I can. A brief review is that I lost my mother in January and got involved in the Norway list so that I could continue trying to find her family. Anyway - My dad is having a real tough time with her loss and at times I think he is going to drive me banana's. Anyway, prior to meeting my mother he was stationed with the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia. While there he met a girl by the name of charlotte Lavigne. They fell in love and were going to be married but my dad was sent to the Dominican Republic as a duty station. While there he was the sole survivor of an airplane crash. He was in a comma for quite some time and then confined to the hospital for a total of 6 months. During this time he obviously couldn't write (he was severely burned) and he lost contact with charlotte. He later found out (in 1962) that she had married another Navy man and moved to Seattle, WA where she worked fo!
r Boeing. We do not know her married name, she later divorced and then remarried. My plea for help is to those on the list living in Virginia or Rhode Island. Charlotte was from Providence Rhode Island and I was hoping that someone could please do a look up and see if they could locate a marriage license with her first husbands name on it. We think she married in or around 1941 or 1942. My dad is terribly lonely and would like to find Charlotte if at all possible. His only clue to her is a telephone number in Seattle from 1962. She called to offer her condolences when we lost my 17 year old brother on Mt. Rainer. I am sorry to post such a long request but I felt you needed to know the whole story. I have searched reverse directories in Seattle with no luck. I have searched the internet for her maiden name and called every Lavigne that was listed on the internet. Any help from you guys would really be appreciated. If I did wrong by posting this please accept my sincerest apolog!
ies, but I don't know what else to do to help my dad. By the By -
