Connie--

Fjelberg is a parish on an island south of Bergen in Hordaland. Many of
the early settlers in Illinois were from this area, so this is probably
where your relatives were from. Some of the settlers in Illinois later
moved to Story County, Iowa, where they named a church "Fjeldberg". My
great-grandparents emigrated from Fjelberg in 1859, first to Illinois and
then later to Iowa. This is not the only Fjelberg in Norway, but I think
it is the most likely one.

If you haven't already looked at John Follesdal's website
(members.xoom.comm/follesdal), you'll find that it gives you a lot of
information about the next steps you need to take.

Good luck!
