I have some material from a family tree on my grandmother's side of the
family and in that list it states that my grandfather was born in Vernon
City Wisconsin on Oct 11, 1871. I checked the atlas and could not find a
Vernon City listed. I did find Vernon County with Viroqua as the county
seat. I sent my 12 dollars to the Department of Health and Family Services
for a copy of the birth certificate. I received a paper back stating that
no information was available. I did send them all the info on the
downloaded form. The paper I received listed the county as Dane but did not
list the city. Does anyone of the listers have a good suggestion as to
where I should look next for Information On My Grandfather, Thomas John
Ottum born Oct 11, 1871 again the city or town that I have listed is Vernon
City, WI I am new at this and need a lot of help Thanks Don Ottum
