Catherine,
Here is the family in the 1910 census: 1910 US census, census reel
T624-1139, Walcott Township, Richland County, North Dakota, ED 192, page 7A,
enumerated 29 April 1910: Simon Odegard (head, age 42, married, he and parents born in
NOR, does not speak English), Ragnhild Odegard (wife, age 48, married, has
had eight children and eight are living, she and parents born in NOR, does not
speak English), Ingvald Odegard (son, age 18, single, he and parents born in
NOR), Peder Odegard (son, age 16, he and parents born in NOR), Marit Odegard
(dau, age 14, she and parents born in NOR), Olea Odegard (dau, age 12, she
and parents born in NOR), Sophie Odegard (dau, age 10, she and parents born in
NOR), Rudolph Odegard (son, age 7, he and parents born in NOR) and John M.
Odegard (son, age 5, born in North Dakota, parents born in NOR).

I believe someone has sent you the 1920 US census. The Melvin listed there
is most certainly the John M. Odegard listed in the 1910. As the parents are
not listed in the 1920 census, we can probably assume they died between 1910
and 1920. You also have information that Ingvald died in 1989 in Fargo,
North Dakota. You can order death certificates for the parents and Ingvald and
a birth certificate for John Melvin. The cost is quite inexpensive and
service is fast. You can order online with a credit card and if ND cannot find
the certificate, your money is refunded! If you need instructions on how to do
this, let me know. An obituary for Ingvald will probably be found in the
"Fargo Forum" newspaper, Fargo, North Dakota. You could contact North Dakota
State University in Fargo and ask them to find the obituary or maybe a lister
can do that for you.

Here is Rudolph's family: 1930 US census, census roll 397, Fernwood
precinct, Benewah County, Idaho, ED 5-13, page 2B, enumerated 25 April 1930: Rudolph
Odegard (head, age 28, he and parents born in NOR, immigrated in 1903 and is
naturalized, laborer in a mill), Myrtle Odegard (wife, age 27, born in
Washington, parents born in Illinois) and Bonnie L. Odegard (daughter, age 1-?/12,
born in Idaho, father born in NOR, mother born in Washington). According to
the Social Security Death Index, Rudolph was born 20 April 1902 and died 09
May 1988 in Ferwood, Benewah County, Idaho.

As Ingvald's Social Security number was issued in California, I checked the
1930 census and believe this is his family: 1930 US census, census roll 106,
living at 1157 72nd Avenue, City of Oakland, Alameda County, California, ED
138, page 17A, enumerated 12 April 1930: [no first name] Odegard (head, owns a
home valued at $3,500, owns a radio, age 39, first married at age 23, he and
parents born in NOR, house carpenter, immigrated in 1904), Anna Odegard
(wife, age 34, married, first married at age 18, she and parents born in NOR,
immigrated in 1904), Lavern Odegard (son, age 15, born in California, parents
born in NOR), Katherine Odegard (dau, age 13, born in California, parents born
in NOR), John Odegard (son, age 10, born in California, parents born in CA)
and Lawrence Odegard (age 4, born in California, parents born in NOR).

Although there is no first name listed for the head of household, the
immigration year is close and the age is close. Assuming this is the correct
family, there is an Anna Odegard who died 21 March 1990 in Butte, California, born
28 September 1895. Also, although both the unnamed head of household and
the wife are listed as having immigrated in 1904, if you calculate the probable
year of marriage, they married about 1914 which means they did not marry in
Norway.

You asked about the destination of "Moore." Just to the south of Walcott
Township is "Mooreton" Township. Maybe someone at Ellis Island misunderstood
the destination. Tracing the daughters without knowing the husbands will be
difficult, but maybe Rudolph's grandson can give you that information.
