I have the 1910 image and will send it to you off list if you like. It
certainly looks like your family, although Christian is there and listed
as a farm laborer. Christian must have left for Canada after the census
was taken in 1910. Martina is still at home. The rest of the children
are gone. Maren is listed as Mary and her age is off, but the
immigration year is correct. Bensruds are on the same page.
You would not have found Maren indexed on Ancestry in the 1910 census.
It is a head of household index only.

>Listers: I have been searching for the Carl/Karl Olsson/Olson family for a while and finally found mention of them on a 1910 census. It looks like he is living next to his inlaws the Benruds He has been living in Portland Wisconsin area since 1872, and pretty well stayed there his whole life. He married Maren Benrud at Portland on April 15, 1873, had a daughter Annie June 28, 1874, then Carl, Maren, Ole, Peter, Caroline, Martina and Christian (b. 1885). Other than Annie and Christian, I have no birth information.
>Carl was born in Ny Parish Varmland Sweden, Apr. 30, 1846, died in Wisconsin Feb. 23, 1929. Maren Benrud was born Eidsvold, Norway, Dec. 25, 1843, emigrated 1872, died June 30, 1931 Wisconsin. The Benruds, Peder and children, Olava, Karl and Kristian emigrated in 1875.

>I really have problems with finding information on Ancestry you give them all the information they will take, and they give you 500 items and usually around the 333 rd item you find what looks like your family member. And then if you haven't bought that service you are locked out of the information, so you can't confirm if it is the right family. Sorry, just getting bleary eyed here.

>Would someone please look at this census and let me know if this is my family. I tried searching Maren's name to see if she showed up with the same neighbors etc., and could not find her. I would like to know if Maren is there, age, and what children are home at the time. Annie and Christian should be gone. Christian moved to Canada in 1910. If someone could find an 1880 or 1900 census showing the whole family, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you for any assistance...jan eliason
