HI Aanund.....

Expeditions / migrations of peoples from one area to another for resettlement purposes have been going on in one way or another since time immemorial........they didnt always know where they were going to end up....all they knew was that due to war, famine, pestilence or whatever, they had to join forces and use what strength they had to move on......who says they knew where they were going.....just get out there in the ocean and let the tides carry them wherever,.....regardless of where they ended up it would have had to be better than what they were leaving behind.

Maybe Im just a hopeless romantic and like to think of some sort of a happier ending....but mankind has been proven to be amazing resilient at such times.....
regards,
Karan

Hi Karen,

Nothing wrong with it, except it does not seem likely.
The fitting out of overseas expeditions would have taken
both knowledge and resources that the decimated and war-
ridden Scandinavian populations at the time did not posess.

For instance they did not have the knowledge that there was
somewhere overseas that a fresh start could be made.

Aanund

It seems perfectly logical to me that they would have been wanting to get as far away as possible from that area with its contagion.....
