Dear All

I am hoping someone out there with a little local knowledge might be able
to help me.

Recently, I ordered a copy of my Great, Great Grandparents Marriage
certificate. On 22nd March 1890 JAMES WILLIAM SQUIRES of Upper
Woodborough Road, (son of JAMES SQUIRES) married JULIA ANN HUNT of Upper
Woodborough Road (daughter of SAMUEL HUNT). They married at St. Judes
Church, in the Parish of St. Ann's Nottingham, but the registration
district is Basford.

>From here I planned to check Upper Woodborough Road in the 1880 and 1890
census's. However, Upper Woodborough Road does not appear on the
index for 1880 or 1890. Woodborough Road is in the index and I have check
this for 1890 and I only found one Squires family, but this didn't include
James or James William Squires.

Does anyone know if Upper Woodborough Road exists? Woodborough Road is
very long (over 250 houses) and I wondered if "Upper" was used to
distinguish one end from the other. Unfortunately, the certificate does
not give the house number either lived at.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dawn Holland
