Millott-Mellot-Meadows
Having been at a complete standstill for the last seven years I am now
desperate to find even the smallest twig to place on my Family Tree.
So, should anyone out there be able to help I would be eternally
grateful.
The names which I am researching are the Millott Mellot Meadows
and other varient spelling who have lived in the Nottinghamshire are for
several hundred years. On 19th Dec 1731William Millott married Mary
Meadows or more correctly Meddows at St-Peters church Mansfield Notts
England. Three of their children were granted apprenticeships through a
charity known as the Old Loft Gallery which was run by this church.
Mary Meddows the daughter of Nathanael Meddows was baptised
there Oct 1st 1703 and buried 18th March 1748. Again at St-Peters
Mansfield . The baptism (if there was one) and place of birth of
husband William are not known. However, William Milliot , a pauper was
buried 13th Dec 1763.
Was this my William?.
Mellot.
In the course of my researching the name Millott in Nottinghamshire
England several Mellots and varients are included in my tree. E.g.
Protestation Returns 1641/42 lists Thomas Constable Mellott of Annesley
Nottinghamshire. Settlement Certificate 1705 of John Mellet wife and
three childrenfrom Granby to Mansfield. Baptism Annesley aug 1624
William Mellet sonne of William Mellet. Gabriel Mellot was a
churchwarden at Annesley in 1664. Apprentice Indentures of Pauper
Children for Eastwood 1876 George Mellott aged 14 to John Bullock for 7
years.Marriage of William Mellott to Ann Innocent 1736 plus many more
Baptisms, Marriages,Burials, Census Returns etc.
So. If you have a Nottinghamshire Mellot or similar spelling who
knows maybe I have found them.
Finally. A plea. My Family Tree has been on hold for so long Dutch Elm
Disease is now seriously damaging my branches. Not to mention my
sanity.
