Nicola,
I do have two William BURTONS.

On is William BURTON born 25 Aug 1886 in Almy Wyoming and died 8 Dec 1890
also in Wyoming. Sons of Joseph BURTON and Emma ALCOCK.
They were both immigrants from Nottingham in 1880. They had married in 1872
in Hucknall. Oops....no descendants from that William!

The other is a William BURTON (born between 1820 and 1828, most likely in
Nottingham) who married Elizabeth ?. They had Emma (1858) and Henry
(1860). I have not been able to connect this William to the family, but I
found him also in Almy Wyoming living with the above family in the 1900
Wyoming census. He said he was 72 at the time. Going to the Mormon
Immigration Index, I found a William BURTON from Nottingham, immigrating in
1872 with his wife Elizabeth and the two children named above...Emma and
Henry.

I think that he was most likely a cousin to my 2nd great grandfather Henry
BURTON (1828-1895) who was the son of Joseph BURTON (abt 1800 to before 1861
census and Ann SMITH (1801-1891+) I'm at a dead end there!

There is another, William Walton BURTON that came from Bradford, but I doubt
if you are researching him.
