Hi List,

My father Robert Edgar Blackshaw was born at this address in 1881,
skipping many details, he emigrated to Canada about 1906 and married
my mother in 1918. I have a letter to Dad from my Grandfather, Samuel
dated 1918 and he was still at this address. Today I tried searching
street map sites and one gave me a location off Shakespeare Road, but
would not zoom in any further. It showed a short curved cul-de-sac off
Shakespeare with a red circle just at the curve, but no name was printed
on this short street. Wait for it.

Does 29 Chatham Street still exist? Could SKS provide a photo? BTW, Dad
does not show up on the 1881 census 'cause he was born 17 Apr 1881. If
anyone has seen cousin Sheila Richard's marvelous site, in one of the bios
there is a statement "Samuel and Sarah Ann were in Newark awaiting the
birth of their third child..." My reaction was "Hey, that was my Father".
Hurt like hell when I lost him. He was in his 81st year and I hear folk
today saying "Well he was 81 he had a good life." I am 71, are they
trying to tell me something? I plan on another 30.

Robert
