8. Harnish, Albert G.
BOSTON FLORIDA
Albert G. 66 of Homosassa, Fl., died Sunday June 25, 2000 at his home. Born
in Boston, MA. Throughout his life he lived in many places including El Paso,
TX, Ft. Sill, OK, Kitzingen, Germany, Washington DC, Springfield, VA, Madrid,
Spain, Virginia Beach, VA and Lafayette, IN. He came to Florida 4 years ago
with his wife Joan. He was a Lt. Colonel in the Intelligence Branch of the U.S.
Army for 21 Years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, was stationed at the
Pentagon under the Secretary of the Army and served as Army Attache in Madrid
Spain from 1970-1975. After Retirement from the Army, he worked as Vice President
at a financial Futures Investment company and then as a teacher of finance at
a community college in Indiana. Upon his graduation from Boston Latin High School,
he went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree from Boston University (1955) and
his Master's Degree from Golden Gate University (1975). In Homosassa, he was
an active volunteer with the AARP Tax Aid Program and with the Sugarmill Woods
Security Patrol. His most loved hobby was the ongoing renovation of his grandfather's
farmhouse in Nova Scotia, Canada. He was pre-deceased by two beloved brothers
in-law, Richard (Dick) and Gerald (Jerry) Sudbey. Survivors include his wife,
Joan (Sudbey) Harnish, 3 sons, Steven of Boston, MA, Eric of Dublin, CA. and
Christopher of Lafayette, IN, 2 sisters, Carol Underhill of Westport, CT, Shirley
Grist of Clarksburg, MD, 3 beloved daughters-in-law, Joanne, Beth and Kristine.
He was known as "Poppy" to his 3 Grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Kaity), Samuel (Sam)
and Madelyn (Maddy). Other survivors include 27 nieces and nephews. He will
be greatly missed by his many friends. Friends may call Thursday, June 29, 2000
from 6-7:00 P.M. at Wilder-Fountains Funeral Home, HOMOSASSA SPRINGS, FL. In
lieu of Flowers memorial may be made to: American Cancer Society's Winn Dixie

born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on June 29, 1911, the 10th child of Abram and
Libby (Godine) Webber. She emigrated from Canada to Boston. Sarah was the loving
wife of Harry Kraft of blessed memory, and the dedicated and devoted mother
to their children, Avram, Robert, and Elizabeth Levine. She was the mother-in-law
to Kerana (Gladstone) Kraft, Myra (Hiatt) Kraft and Peter Levine. Sarah was
grandmother of Rachel, Adam, Jonathan, Daniel, Joshua, and David Kraft and to
Deborah Levine Weisman and Jeremy Levine. Mrs. Kraft was also blessed with 7
great-grandchildren. Funeral services are private. Shiva will be held at the

Eleanor E. Melanson, 88 years old, of Vero Beach, Florida died April 14, 2000
at Palm Gardens Nursing Home of Vero Beach after a brief illness. She was born
September 5, 1911 in Nova Scotia, Canada, and moved to Vero Beach 10 years ago
from Framingham, MA. Mrs. Melanson was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic
Church in Sebastian Florida. Surviving are one daughter, Rita Pennie of Sebastian
and 1 son Jack Melanson of Vero Beach. 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at 9:00am on Saturday June 3rd at St. Bernard's

20. Schurian, Bernhard B.
MEDFORD MAINE
Of Brunswick, ME, Bernhard B. Schurian, 70, of Oak Ridge Rd., died June 23,
2000 at Maine Veterans' Hospital in Togus following a long illness. He was born
in Boston on Feb. 20, 1930, a son of Bernhard and Alvine Ruck Schurian. He was
educated in Medford schools in MA and graduated from Medford High School in
1947. Mr. Schurian was career military, serving in the U.S. Air Force during
the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring in 1969 after serving 21 years.
He then graduated from New Hampshire College and later the University of Maine.
He was an accountant for Scarponi for eight years. He and his wife, Viola Stafford
Schurian wintered in Florida for the past 12 years. He volunteered a great deal
of his time at the Coastal Humane Society and was active in civic affairs. He
was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Nova Scotia. Survivors include his wife;
1 step-son, John S. Chase of Springfield, MO; 2 step-daughters and their husbands,
Patricia and Francis Bisson of Brunswick, ME, and Bonnie and Robert Zacharias
of Carry, IL; 1 brother, Herbert Schurian of Melrose, MA and 1 sister, Anna
Ruggiera of Rochester, NH. At his request, there will be no service. Burial
will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford at family's convenience.

NH. Son of Amelia (Jerritt) of Baddeck, Nova Scotia and the late Roland Steele.
Brother of Josephine Steele of Fairfield, CT, Nelson Steele of Scarboro, Ontario,
James Steele of Norwalk, CT, Gordon Steele of Sydney, Novia Scotia, and the
late Elsie Mills. Grandfather of Kay Leigh S. and Jenna R. O'Leary. Robert is
also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home,
335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28), NORTH READING on Thursday, April
27 at 9am. Funeral Mass in St. Theresa's Church, 63 Winter St. (Rte 62), North

Margaret L. (MacPhail) Strachan. Dear brother of Georgia Trapp of Plymouth,
Mary Matheson of Nova Scotia, Agnes Kelly of Avon, Catherine McGarry of Weymouth,
Dan Strachan of Pembroke, the late Euphemia Ferguson, John Strachan, Angus and
Jevens Strachan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great long-time
friends Paul, Jerry, and Rufus. Visiting hours in the Brady & Fallon Funeral
