Hi Paul.

Your son took some impressive pictures. What strikes me the most is the
large size of the trees that were downed. I count myself lucky that
living outside of Vancouver we are not subjected to the same weather
extremes you on the east coast have. In my 61 years I can only recall
one hurricane happening in this area, and I missed that because I was in
the RCAF and was in training in Biloxi, Mississippi at the time.
Hurricane Hazel in 1962 had winds exceeding 100 MPH but we did not
sustain the damage you have from Juan. I recall my mother sending me a
newspaper photo of a light plane at Vancouver Airport that was flipped
over on its back. My then future wife walked home from work in the
wind.

Happy Hunting

Gordon
