The following was found in the Tewksbury Almshouse Inmate Case
Histories, Vol. 16, 4/1872 to 10/1872, Tewksbury, MA., cases 39231 and
39784:
39231 - Lovett, Maggie, 22, came there from Tewksbury August 28, 1872.
22, born Cornwallis, N. S., landed in Boston Nov. 1869 per steamer "New
England" under maiden name of Maggie Creighton. In Boston till 4 months
ago, then to Lowell and there since. Married Leonard Lovett in Boston
July 15, 1871 by Rev. Mr. Dunn. Resided with husband at 82 Essex St.,
roomed there. Husband went to Chicago 4 months ago, he a commercial
traveler for Burdett & Young. Has since learned that he has a wife
living. No relatives or friends. Enceinte. Sick soon. Trunk.
Absconded Nov. 18, 1872.
39784 - Lovett, Otis, born October 16, 1872. Discharged Nov. 21,
1872.
