The following was found in the Tewksbury Almshouse Inmate Case
Histories, Vol. 16, 4/1872 to 10/1872, Tewksbury, MA., case 39094:

Fisher, Sarah, 52, came there from Milford July 29, 1872. 52, born Nova
Scotia, landed in Portland May 1871 per steamer "Carlotta". She thinks
direct to Milford. Came with husband, William, who now resides in
Whitinsville, a wheelwright. Has 4 children living with husband.
Parents dead. Husband's sister, Mrs. George Edwards, in Milford.
Partially insane. Well.
Mr. Nash reports that husband, William Fisher, born Nova Scotia, came to
Milford 1853, there two years, back to N. S. till 1871, has 3 children
to support. Does not want wife sent to N. S. Intends to make this
country his home. Can do nothing at present for support. Died August
20, 1873.
