The Jess Family Memorial Committee announces the completion of its memorial project commemorating the settlement of our early ancestors in Scots Bay, Nova Scotia more than two hundred years ago.

A granite plaque and a metal enclosure have been erected on a site made available by the Province of Nova Scotia.

The memorial is situated on Cape Split Road in Scots Bay on the site of the original homestead established by George Jess and Lisette Payzant.

A brief dedication ceremony and unveiling will be held at Sunday, 11 July 2004 at 7:30 p.m.

Members of the Jess family, residents of Scots Bay and the public are cordially invited to attend.
