OXFORD - Stanley Edward Rodgers, 93, died Sunday in Camp Hill Hospital.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late James and Sarah (Rushton)
Rodgers.
He was a veteran of the First and Second world wars, a member of Knights
of Pythias and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of the United
Baptist Church, Oxford, and he worked in lumbering, farming and insurance.
He is survived by six sons, Emerson, Sydney River; Sheldon and Douglas,
both of Oxford; Nathan, Hannon, Ont.; Prescott, Windsor; Charles, Kanata,
Ont.; two daughters, Audrey (Mrs. Harland Akerman), Great Village; Emily
(Mrs. Hugh Ashcroft), Halifax; a brother, Willard, and a sister, Blanche
(Mrs. Richard Edwards), 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Juanita Tupper; two brothers,
Owen and Clarence, and a sister, Amy.
The body is in MacDiarmid Funeral Home, Oxford. Funeral will be 2:30
p.m. Wednesday in the United Baptist Church, Oxford, Rev. Dewis Rector
officiating, assisted by Lic. Rayburn McNeil. Burial will be in Windham
Cemetery.
