DOROTHY F. JOHNSON, 89, of the St. Elizabeth Home, died Friday at home.
She was the wife of Ernest G. Johnson. They had been married for 68 years.
Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Byron S. and Mary Ellen
(Lewis) Ainsburg, she had lived in Charlestown, New Port Richey, Fla., and North
Kingstown before moving to East Greenwich.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Linda M. Johnson of North
Kingstown and Dorothy M. Johnson of Charlestown; a son, Donald Johnson in Florida;
and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

GERTRUDE (LANDRY) GIROUARD, 93, of Libby Lane, a retired seamstress and
home-health-care worker, died Thursday at Crestwood Nursing Home.She was the wife
of the late Rosario Girouard. Born in Petite Gallie, in Canada, a daughter of
the Luc and Elmire (LaChance) Landry, she had lived in Maine before moving to
Warren many years ago, and had also lived in Florida for 15 years.Mrs. Girouard
had been a seamstress at Well Made Garment Workers for several years before
retiring in 1962. She was a member of Local 324 of the International Ladies
Garment Workers Union, where she had been a steward, and had taken courses in
union leadership and related topics.She had performed home health care in the
East Bay for many years after completing courses in nursing and first aid.Mrs.
Girouard was a communicant of St. Jean Baptiste Church. She was a member of the
Pawtucket Arts Council, and had taught crafts while living in Florida. She
also enjoyed ballroom dancing.She leaves two sisters, Antoinette Lamonde of
Warren and Florence Lynch of Lincoln; a brother, Rene Landry of Auburn, Calif.; and
four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Victor Dion and Mary Ann Fournier, and
sister of the late Addie Dallaire, Irene Dutra, Yvonne Hamel, Lucy Martel, Sister
Alice Landry, and Donat, Frank, Joseph and Maurice Landry.The funeral will be
held tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. from William J. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 15
Church St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Jean Baptiste Church, Main
Street. Burial will be in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery.

JULIETTE S. THERIEN, 89, of 1 Main St., a retired textile worker, died Friday
in Landmark Medical Center.She was the wife of the late Leo A. Therien. Born
in St. Jean Deschaillons, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late Phillippe and
Rose Anna (Badeau) Potvin. Mrs. Therien had worked in the pen and pencil
department at A.T. Cross for seven years, and as a winder at Hanora Lipitt
Spinning Mills, and JED's Textile Co. before retiring.She leaves two daughters,
Constance Szczengor of Woonsocket and Cecile Boucher of Cumberland; and four
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Leo A.
Therien, and sister of the late Delia and louis Potvin.The funeral will be held
tomorrow at 8 a.m. from Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St.,
with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in Holy Family Church, South Main
Street. Burial will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, Mass.
