Kathy,

The Newport Road ran (still does) from Halifax to Newport. It would go
through Ardoise Hill/St. Croix and Three Mile Plain. It would skirt the
outside of Windsor, but would definitely not have gone through Scotch
Village. Scotch Village is on a different road altogether, the one leading
from Brooklyn, through Mosherville and Stanley and on to Noel.
