Do you ever have one of these days? I make the find on a RootsWeb Post
that adds a generation and provides a contact with whom I might exchange
lots of information. Eagerly I send off an email. Five days later I get
the following answer :-( I am finding in the short time I've been surfing
the web for genealogy that it is more common for the email address to be
expired or invalid than to make a contact. Anyone know Albert Jones?

Looking for information on John McLeod Born September 6, 1808 in
Sutherlandshire, Scotland, died September 9, 1899 in Cleveland, Cape Breton
Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. Don't know when he emigrated.

John McLeods parents were John McLeod and Catherine McLeod nee Ross. John
McLeod Sr. was born Sutherlandshire 1761 and died in Scotland. Catherine
McLeod emigrated to Canada with 4 children circa 1830.

The John McLeod you are looking for is my gg grandfather. I too am looking
for more information about him. I have some prospective parents for him
and a cloud :) of descendents. I don't know his exact immigration date
either, but family tradition says he got off the boat before its ultimate
destination. The names you have for his parents match up with my
