Subject: [NS-CB-L] McDonald and McLean Munro's Point 1871?
Date: Sat, 13 Dec 2003 13:21:46 -0600
Well, as always with my brick walls, I went back to all of my sources to see
if I missed something. Amazingly enough, in the 1871 census in Malcom 45 and
Cathrain 43 McDonald, in addition to their children, Norman, John,
Catherine, Catherine Ann and Donald, I find John McLean 84 W b. Scotland.
How I missed this previously, I can't imagine, but now I am wondering if
Cathrain's maiden name might be McLean. Does anyone know this family?
Also, I have previously investigated connections with the next household,
with no conclusions. Is anyone researching these families?
Household 59 Munro's Point 1871:
John 86 farmer b. Scotland
Sarah 76 wife "
Donald 38 farmer & fisher
Ann 31 wife
John 34 farmer & fisher
Isabella 27 wife
Margreat 7
Murdoch 3
Sarah Ann 8m
John and Donald's families show in the 1881 census on neighboring farms in
North River. Malcom has died by this time and his widow and children are in
Englishtown. I am wondering if Malcom is the brother of John and Donald.
Does anyone recognize these families?
Thanks!
Lisa McDonald
