HIGHLY ESTEEMED WOMAN PASSES AT STELLARTON
Stellarton- The death occured of one of Stellarton's most esteemed and loved
women on May 19, in the person of MRS. JESSIE CAMPBELL who passed peacefully
away at the home of her daughter, MRS.WILLIAM FLEMING.
She had been ailing for some time but was not considered serious until
about six weeks before her death. She was a patient at Aberdeen Hospital for
a short time and then taken to her daughter's home where she was tenderly
cared for. Her sister, MISS MARGARET CAMPBELL,R.N., of New York, came home
to be her and help care for her.
MRS. CAMPBELL was a wonderful mother, neighbour and friend. The children
all loved her, which was the highest praise that could be paid anyone. She
was"AUNT JESSIE" to all who knew her and will be mourned by many.
Practically all her 75 years was spent in Stellarton where she was very
well known in her own quiet way and was a regular attendant at
Sharon-St.John United Church as long as her health permitted her.
She leaves to mourn their loss a daughter, MRS.W. FLEMING, two sisters,
MRS. SUTHERLAND MacDOUGALL, Stellarton; and Miss MARGARET CAMPBELL, R.N.,
New York; and one brother, JOHN W. CAMPBELL. Three grandcholdren also
survive.
The funeral was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. William
Fleming,Asphalt, with her pastor Rev.R.D. MacIntosh, officiating, assisted
by members of the church choir leading in singing the favorite hymns of the
deceased, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus", and "The Lord's My Shepherd".
Mr. MacIntosh spoke comforting words to the bereaved.
Interment was in Brookside cemetery.
