COLLET, Edmond Joseph - Soldier's Cove, passed away peacefully, surrounded
by all his loving family, in Strait Richmond Hospital, June 18, 2004. Born
in Soldier's Cove on October 18, 1930, he was a son of the late Fred and
Julie (Collet) Collet. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy (MacDonald);
sons, Angus MacDonald, Leo MacDonald, Edmond Francis, Willie Joe, all of
Soldier's Cove; M.A. "Mike" (Terri), Sydney; daughters, Mary O'Toole, Barra
Head; Juliana (Wayne) Savoy and Madonna, both of Soldier's Cove. Edmond is
also survived by brothers, Joey (Mary), George (Doreen), Ontario; identical
twin brother and best friend, Alphonse, McNab's Cove; sisters, Emma
MacDonald, Mary Stone, both of Sydney; Annie (Laurie) Breau, St. Peter's.
Poppie will be fondly remembered by very special grandchildren, Mark,
Joshua, Matt, Devan, Brett, Tasha, Chris, Jon, Jordan, Maria and Justin;
several nieces and nephews and two godchildren. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by brothers, Pius, Frank and John; sister, Regina;
daughter-in-law, Colleen MacDonald and son-in-law, Walter O'Toole. Edmond
worked in forestry-lumberwood industries all his life. He loved to fish,
hunt, play cards and spend time at his cabins. Visitation in Alex A.
Morrison Funeral Home today from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral
will be held in Immaculate Conception Church, Barra Head, on Monday at 10
a.m. Burial in the parish cemetery.

DIGERO, Henry - 76, New Waterford, died June 17, 2004. Born in New
Waterford, he was a son of the late Rene and Juliette (Matthys) Digero.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Helle); daughter, Mary; sons, Ernie, Henry;
sister, Annie; twin brother, Albert "Blackie"; brother, Louie; seven
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brother,
Maurice "Moe"; brother-in-law, George; sisters-in-law, Gloria, Theresa.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday in V.J. McGillivray Funeral
Home, New Waterford. Fireman's funeral 11 a.m. Monday in St. Michael's
Church, Scotchtown. Burial in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in
Gaul Centre.

GALLAGHER, Victoria Mary "Tory" - 75, Dartmouth, formerly of International
Street, Glace Bay, passed away June 13, 2004, in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Helena (Bates)
O'Keefe. "Tory" was a long-time employee of St. Joseph's Community Hospital,
Glace Bay. Upon retirement, she moved to Dartmouth to be closer to her
daughter and granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Garagan
(Tim Dooley); granddaughter, Adrienne Garagan, Dartmouth; sisters, Elizabeth
Nealis, Dartmouth; Marie McGean and Leona O'Keefe, both of Massachusetts;
brother, John F. (Margaret) O'Keefe, Glace Bay; many nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Arthur, David, and Anthony; sisters,
Mary, Rose, and infant sisters, Victoria and Rita. Special thanks to the
staff of QEII Health Sciences Centre ICU, your gift of compassion and care
will be treasured. Memorial donations may be made to The Lung Association,
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or QEII Foundation. Funeral will
be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church,
Glace Bay, Father Peter LeBlanc officiating. A reception will immediately

CAMPBELL (Trimm), Gloria Henrietta - 42, Catalone Gut, died Tuesday, June
15, 2004, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, Gloria
was the daughter of Fabian and Joyce Trimm, Louisbourg. Surviving are her
husband, Garfield; daughters, Kristin, Janelle; sister, Eileen Burke;
brother, Blair. She was predeceased by grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth
MacVicar, Henry and Elizabeth Trimm. Funeral services today at 11 a.m. in
Immaculate Conception Church. Burial in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery,
Louisbourg. Family flowers only. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or
charity of choice under direction of Chant's Funeral Homes.

MacInnis, William E. 'Bunt' 88 of Sydney passed away Friday June 18, 2004 at
his home. Born in Whitney Pier on Feb.12,1916 he was the son of the late
James L. and Sadie (Livingston) MacInnis. He was a member of Trinity United
Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Lois (Spears); daughter,
Heather, (the late Jerry) Johnston, Keltic Dr.; Jean (Gardiner) Potter,
Sydney River; Shirley (Andre) Bennett, Beeachmount; and son David, Fort
McMurray; grandchildren, Danielle and Brent Johnston; Aaron and Garth
Potter; Jenna and April Bennett and Emily and Austin MacInnis; brother
Howard (Kay)and Gordon (Iva; sisters in law, Gladys and Bessie. Wilbert was
predeceased by a son James; a granddaughter Rebecca; a sister Marie Dalton
and brothers, James, Russell and Donald. Visitation Saturday at Sydney

Maillett, Monica 82, of New Waterford passed away Friday June 18, 2004 at
the New Waterford Hopsital. Born in Iona, she was the daughter of the late
Alex J. and Sarah (MacNeil) MacNeil. She was a member of Mount Carmel
Church. Surviving are her daughters, Winnie (Bob) Allen, Kamloops, BC;
Lucille (Keith) Byrne, Brantford, Ont.; Tricia (Robbie) Wilson, Dartmouth;
Evelyn (Jack) Kitchen, Woodstock, NB; Shirley Nowe, Moncton, NS; Paula
(Kevin) Hogan, New Waterford; sisters, Rita MacGibbon, New Waterford; Aggie
MacDonald, Ontario; Margaret Moran, Ontario; brothers, Raymond MacNeil,
Cheticamp; Bernie MacNeil, Belle Cote; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Rosalyn,
Tera, Annette, Deanna, Lindsey, Richelle, Karen, Colleen, Paul, Michelle,
David, Brandon tow great grandchildren, Monica and Bryson. Monica was
predeceased by her husband Wilfred 'Monk' Maillett, sister Dena, brothers,

Swan, William 'Bryce', 72 of Alder Pt. Rd., Bras d'or passed away June 17,
2004 at his residence. Born in Sydney Mines, he was a son of the late
George and Catherine (Marsh) Swan. A member of St. Joseph's Church, Bras
d'or, he is survived by five sons, Carl (Darlene), Florence; Bryce
(Patricia), Alder Pt.; Eldon (Karen) Sydney Mines; John Wayne (Michelle),
North Sydney; David (Lucinda), Florence; two daughters, Lois (Scott) Marsh,
Millcreek and Samantha (Russell) Marsh, Millville; 10 grandchildren: Carl
Jr.; Cory; Kara; Laura; Anne Marie; Bryce; Kimberly; Kyle; Shae-Lynn; Hannah
and great grandson Tye; three sisters, Monie Arsenault, Millville; Bridget
(Reg) Thurbide, Bras d'or and Lois Currie, Bras d'or; special companion,
Vange Harrietha, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son
Sheldon, two brothers, Dennis and Oscar and two sisters, Margaret MacLean
and Katie MacLeod. Private visitation only. A Funeral mass will be
celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 am. at St. Joseph's Church, Bras d'or with
burial in the parish cemetery.

Cassella, Irma, 78, of Grand Lake, Sydney passed away at the Cape Breton
Regional, June 18, 2004. Born in L'Aquila, Italy, she was the daughter of
the late Anna and Guido Tobia, Italy. She is survived by her husband
Anthony Casella, children Theresa, son Tony; four grandchildren, Jamie
Bancks, David Bancks, Sydney; Anthony Casella and Amanda Casella, Halifax;
sisters, Marisa and Franca, Italy, a brother Vitoriano, Holland; many nieces
and nephews; sister in law, Linda Costantino; nephew Angelo (Raylene)
Constantino and children Shane and Holly, Sydney, NS and Dr. Anthony (Helen)
Constantino and children Kathryn and Anthony of Abbotsford, BC. Visitation
for Irma Casella will be held Sunday June 20, 2004, 7-9 pm. at T.W.Curry's
Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at Immaculate Heart
Church at 10 am. with Rev. E. McDow officiating. Interment will be in
Resurrection Cemetery.

Maxwell M. MacDonald Maxwell M. MacDonald 65, of Moncton and formerly of
Baddeck, NS passed away unexpectedly in the Regina General Hospital on
Sunday, June 13, 2004. Born in Blackville, NB and grew up in Nova Scotia, he
was the son of the late Weldon and Ellen (Collins) MacDonald. After
attending Mount Allison University, he taught High School in Baddeck and
Iona, Cape Breton for 32 years. Upon retirement, Max enjoyed RVing
throughout North America for several years before making his home in
Moncton. Throughout his retirement, Max dedicated an extensive amount of
time to Genealogy, and became a noted author and scholar, willing to assist
others in their research. His greatest joy in his research was his regular
contact with family members and friends. Max is survived by his wife of 41
years, Verne; his sons, Weldon and Carl; his mother-in-law, Elta (Wilbur)
Duguid; his brother, David; and his sisters, Beatrice, Shirley and Sharon.
He was predeceased by brothers, Carl and Frank. A private interment will be
held at the Blackville United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations
can be made to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton or to a charity

Orr Caroline (MacDonald) wife of the late Clifford Orr of Port Morien,
passed away June 6, 2004 at Toronto Western Hospital. Funeral Mass was
celebrated at St. Mark's Church, Etobicoke, Ont. Besides her children and
grandchildren, Carrie is survived by sisters, Eileen MacDonald of London,
Ont. and Patricia Roach, New Waterford.

MacDonald, Verna Shepard 1910-2004 - Omitted in the obituary of Verna
Shepard MacDonald was that she was predeceased by a brother Roy Shepard, of
Louisbourg. Our apologies to our cousins.
