08/13/2004 Vaughan "Bonnie" (Bagnell) Gillis Our loving mother,
grandmother, sister, daughter and friend passed away peacefully Thursday,
August 12, 2004 at age 47. Bonnie left behind a lifetime of memories for
those lucky enough to have known and loved her. She was born in North
Sydney, Cape Breton, the daughter of Graham Bagnell and the late Vaughan
Bagnell, Bonnie is survived by her children: Brian (Carissa) of Moncton,
James of North Sydney, Daniel and Suzanne of Moncton, and Ciaran, the most
beautiful grandson in the world. Bonnie loved her family more than anything
but still had time to be the best friend anyone could ask for. That
beautiful face, that smile and those brilliant blue eyes drew you to her,
then that wonderful heart won you over. She retired from nursing in 1985 to
raise and nurture her children, the love of her life. Bonnie was
instrumental in the founding of the Greater Moncton's Breast Cancer Support
Group and had a strong connection as a committee member of the Hillsborough
Fashions' Gala. She also served on the school parent advisory committee at
Bessborough School. Faith was key in Bonnie's life and she was an active
and attending member of Allison Church. She also enjoyed many hobbies,
including dance, creating beautiful flower arrangements, gardening and
became an interior decorator. Bonnie was a beautiful friend and loving
sister to her three brothers and one sister: Graham Bagnell (Anne) Halifax;
Michael Bagnell, Edmonton, Hugh Bagnell, Halifax; Cathy MacPherson (Ron),
Lake Placid, Florida. Visitation 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Saturday, August
14, 2004 at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton NB.
Funeral service 3pm Sunday, August 15 at Allison Church, 1539 Salisbury
Road, Moncton. A reception will follow downstairs in the church. A
committal service, with Father Tom MacNeil officiating, at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Johnston Road, North Sydney on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at 11 am.
Memorial donations to The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation which
will be directed to the Hillsborough Fashions Gala (for breast cancer).
