05/25/2005 FRENCH, CARL ALLAN - 57 of Kingston died May 22, 2005 in
Grand Narrows, Cape Breton. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the
late Frederic and Clara (Mitchell) French. He was a member of the R.C.A.F.
for 32 years, member of 14 Wing Air Reserve Flight, former Pipe Major of
Kiwanis Pipe Band, Saint John, NB, instructor of Summerside Presbyterian
Pipe Band where he met his wife, Edith, member of C.F.B. Rockcliffe Pipe
Band, Ottawa and 14 Wing Greenwood Pipes and Drums. He was a member of
R.C.A.F.A. Valley Wing #10. He joined the Royal Canadian Legion #69, Saint
John, NB at the age of 18 and was a legion member for 39 years, most
recently the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #98, Kingston as branch piper
and member of Legion Colour Party. He was a member of Men's Valley Dart
League, North Mountain Gun Club, formerly a Cadet Glider Instructor, a
former private pilot, active scuba diver and kayaker. He participated in
several International Tattoos, including N.S. International Tattoo in
Halifax. Surviving are his wife, the former Edith Mungall; daughter
Patricia, Kingston. He was predeceased by daughter Amanda. Visiting 2-4 and
7-9 pm, Wednesday and Thursday and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #98
service 7 pm, Thursday all in the Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton.
Funeral Service 2 pm, Friday in St. Mark's Chapel, 14 Wing Greenwood, Padre
Art Crawley and Rev. Ken Stright officiating. Interment in North Kingston
Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations to Children's Wish
Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice. Online
