Hi Rhonda,
I was looking through my e-mail today and came across your message. I am
researching a Turnbull line which has a link to the Bathurst area and am
wondering if there is any connection. My Turnbull's are John Turnbull b.
1827 in Rutherglen Scotland and died 1878 in Greenvale, Bathurst. His wife
Janet Hay was born around 1828 in Sterlingshire and died 16 August 1902 at
Davies Creed Rockley. They had a son, Robert Turnbull who is probably the
father of Randolph Bertie Turnbull, my great-grandfather, through his
relationship with Adelaide Shore.
If there is a connection to any of your Turnbulls I would love to hear from
you.

Many thanks to all the Turnbull descendants who made it to Bathurst for the
reunion this weekend. They came from Darwin and Tasmania, and all points in
between. I enjoyed myself immensely during this "meet 'n' greet" weekend,
and
never stopped talking, talking, talking!
Jim Turnbull's "Turnbull Chart" was BIG on visual impact, as well as family
data. Marion Anderson (chief organiser) also put a lot of work into
compiling
large charts for the various Turnbull family groups and their descendants.
The
photographic display was a genealogist's dream. Great stuff! Top job!
So much history, so little time = writer's cramp. Cameras whirred and
flashed,
tapes ran out, and batteries went flat, but through it all we talked and
talked.
The warmth and friendliness displayed, was amazing - especially, as many of
those I met had just been names on paper to me previously. Have I mentioned
how
we talked easily and freely, and at great length?
Eh? What's that? Get off this list you say? I'm sorry, but the Turnbull
Reunion set me talking......
With much laughter,
Rhonda
