Dear Peter and Gwen,
I have seen your e-mails on the Orange list in regards
to your Fulton line. During your research have you collected any
information on the convicts the were assigned to Rev. Henry Fulton?
My ancestor Timothy Dempsey (or Dimsey) was assigned to Henry Fulton in
1821 at Castlereagh. In 1824 he was victualled for six months from the
government stores at Bathurst. He was in the service of John Fulton then
even though he was officially still assigned to Henry Fulton. Timothy
Dempsey married Catherine Joyce, who was a free settler, in 1839 at
Solitary Creek. Henry Fulton's daughter-in-law Elizabeth (wife of John
Walker Fulton) and his daughter Lydia both had land at Solitary Creek so
maybe either my Timothy Dempsey and/ or Catherine Joyce may have worked for
one of them.
As you can see there is a employment connection between my ancestors and
the Fultons. Have you come across any information on either Timothy Demspey
or Catherine Joyce?
Regards,
Catherine
