Dear List,
I have been asked by another researcher for help. Does anyone
know of any place called "Dalesford Station" Bourke. This was the place of
residence given for this person's grandmother on the birth certificate of
her illigitimate child. Does anyone know if Dalesford might have been a home
for unmarried mothers? Her mother was from the Orange area and may have been
sent to Dalesford when she became pregnant. She was then sent to Sydney to
have the baby. The baby was then put into a convent until she was three when
the mother married and reclaimed her.
