Hi folks, Joseph GOLDING my 2ggrandfather was born in Kilmoremoy, Mayo,
Ireland. He met Ann Fraser on the ship "Kate" arrived Sydney in 1850 and
was married in Sydney in 1851. He was lured into the goldfields and other
than my 1ggrandfather Thomas, born in Bathurst in 1852, his other 5 children
born in Tambaroora, Annie McKenzie 1853 unmarried, John 1857 died in
Tomingley in 1884, Robert 1858 married? had a daugher, Katherine 1861
married a Dwyer, Isabella 1864 unmarried. The two sisters Katherine and
Isabella are mentioned in the book Hill End Story by Harry
Hodges.Josephdied in 1890 and was buried in Newcastle.
I would really like to find descendants of his brother John Golding who
married Catherine Agnes Mahoney in 1867 in Bathurst and had 4 children also
born in Tambaroora, Thomas John 1868, Art,hur Henry 1869, Francis 1871 and
Alicia 1874. He may have had others. According to family tradition he had a
home in Sofala called Golding's Rest. I was unable to find John's
immigration record or baptismal record in Kilmoremoy, Mayo. Any help would
be appreciated, Regards, Sandra Brown
