Dear Dave,
Grandison Nutter, I suspect, who got 30 acres next to David Nutter, was
really Grandison McCutcheon, son of Christina O'dell McCutcheon Nutter. He
was born July 15, 1815 to Christina and her husband, ?? McCutcheon. In 1817,
when Grandison was 2, Christina married widower David Nutter. Apparently
David either adopted Grandison or Grandison assumed the surname Nutter, as
this is the way he is listed in census records and his children were Nutters,
rather than McCutcheons. Grandison married Christena Pitsenbarger about
1840...and started a rather large family of 11.
I suspect that David, who had 50 acres on Hominy Creek, was David Nutter, h/o
Ruth Cottle and Christina O'Dell.
My guess is the William, who had 50 acres on Laurel Creek, was the son of
David and Ruth, born about 1799, married Elizabeth Curren in 1825 and also a
Margaret Jones.
These land grants are new info to me...so these are my best guesses.
Linda
