Jeff; no, DAR doesn't require proof beyond the Rev War ancestor, what I
meant was maybe those other societies required some firm proof that none of
us have ever seen put together in that way yet. (PS-Carolyn, you are right
about the older records being somewhat shaky---but boy, what I had to have
to join last year on Thomas Nutter's Rev. War service---it leaves no
question as far as proof! Now DAR is reviewing older records and throwing
out members' lines who do not have the sort of proof now required.. )Debra
