There is a Sulphur in Humboldt Co.:
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=40.8747&lon=-118.7356
and a "Sulfur" in Lyons Co.:
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=38.6197&lon=-119.2528
If you go to:
http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form
type in "sulphur" (without the quotes); click on the "Query Variant Name
YES" button; choose NV as the state; and click on "Send Query" button,
you will get a list of 37 places with "Sulphur" in the place name.
